WICHITA, Kan. -- Despite protests from some of their competitors, Thrifty Car Rental and Enterprise Rent-A-Car received approval this week to begin operating on airport at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport.
The Wichita Airport Advisory Board voted to give Thrifty and Enterprise each five feet of counter space between the main terminal entrance and the baggage claim area.
Some car rental companies expressed concern that the location offered competitive advantages. The other on-airport companies -- Hertz, Avis, National, Dollar and Budget -- are located on the east side of the terminal.
