The U.S. Travel Association in a May 21 announcement praised an agreement that adds Israel to the U.S. Global Entry program, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States.

“With wait times continuing to rise for international travelers entering the country through our nation’s airports, adding trusted countries to the Global Entry program makes a great deal of sense when it comes to security, cost savings and quicker facilitation of low-risk travelers,” said Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. “Adding more countries to Global Entry means less of a wait for all travelers, and we applaud Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano on this agreement and encourage future expansion of Global Entry.”

The U.S. Travel Association is also in support of the Jobs Originated Through Launching Travel Act, which is aimed at improving the Visa Waiver Program.
