U.S. Travel Supports TSA PreCheck Availability at 40 Airports
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced the addition of five airports that will include PreCheck, a trusted traveler program that gives eligible passengers expedited screening.
The U.S. Travel Association is supportive of the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) announcement on Feb. 21 that five more airports will feature PreCheck, a trusted traveler program.
According to the U.S. Travel Association CEO and President Roger Dow, the volume of air travel is expected to double in 20 years and needs a trusted traveler program like PreCheck.
PreCheck allows eligible passengers traveling on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and US Airways to go through expedited screening. Once TSA determines a passenger eligible for PreCheck, information is embedded in the barcode of their boarding pass that is scanned at a designated lane.
The airports announced include Austin-Bergstrom International, Cleveland Hopkins International, Memphis International, Nashville International and Raleigh-Durham International airports. With the recent additions, PreCheck is now available at 40 airports.
