SAN ANTONIO --- Advantage Rent-A-Car has been acquired by ARC Venture Holding Inc., a private investor group. The acquisition includes all fleet and retail assets and trademarks of Advantage.
The deal does not include the Star Shuttle brand, which will continue to be owned and operated by Walker Resources Inc., former proprietor of the car rental company.
The purchase will result in the infusion of new capital in the company and replacement of its current rental car fleet with new vehicles within the next 60, featuring products from DaimlerChrysler and GM, and import automakers.
ARC Venture Holding has a history in the financing and leasing of vehicles and has experience in leisure, travel and automotive industries. The investor group will maintain the current Advantage headquarters in San Antonio.
Walker Resources, a real estate and ground transportation holding company in San Antonio, will have a continued stake in the financial future of Advantage. In addition, Walker Resources plans to focus on the growth of its Star Shuttle and Charter Inc. subsidiary and further expansion and development of its real estate holdings.
The company was represented in the transaction by investment banking firm of Ehrenberg-Chesler.
