Airport International Group Selects Bidders for Car Rental at Jordan Airport
Local and international companies went through an evaluation process to determine which companies would offer the best quality services for travelers at the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA).
Airport International Group (AIG) has selected the preferred bidders for the car rental operators at the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan, including Thrifty, Budget, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, National-Alamo and Payless.
The process to select car rental partners began in April 2012. Both local and international car rental service providers were able to enter a submission.
Analysis to select the bidders was based on objective criteria and technical and financial requirements were examined in the evaluation process — which included the involvement of the Project Management Unit from the Ministry of Transport.
AIG invested $750 million to build the state-of-the-art terminal, and with $100 million spent on rehabilitating the terminals currently in use, the QAIA will become Jordan's primary gateway and regional hub. The terminal is in the end stages of construction with 85% completed to date.
“With the selection of internationally known rental car providers, we are guaranteeing that travelers who require a vehicle while in the Kingdom will be able to obtain one at the airport from a name they trust,” said Kjeld Binger, CEO of AIG. “The quality of service provided by reliable car rental operators at the QAIA will bring us closer to our goal of providing a world-class experience to our growing number of visitors.”
