Quad City International Airport has unveiled a new consolidated maintenance facility for its rental car companies, according to a report by the Quad City Business Journal. Known as a quick turnaround facility, it includes two shared car wash bays, three maintenance bays and attached office spaces.
The $7.75-million facility will put all the companies under one roof, which includes Avis/Budget as one group, Enterprise, Alamo, National as another group and Hertz, says the report.
At the quick turnaround facility, employees will fuel, vacuum, wash and do any other maintenance work on the rental vehicles, says the report. Rental customer will still put up their vehicles at the airport terminal.
Located at the northwest corner of the airport, the facility also includes 400 parking spots for rental car storage, says the report.
The new facility will be funded through customer facility charges (CFCs) collected from rental car customers, says the report.
