New York-based AllCar Rent-A-Car and its car-sharing company CarPingo have been approved as official government and military car rental providers.
“We’re very honored to embark on this new working relationship with the U.S. government,” said Gil Cygler, AllCar president and CEO. “Not only are we serving our customers, but now we can say with pride that we’re also serving our country.”
As a general services administration (GSA) contract holder, AllCar has clearance to provide military and government personnel discounted rental rates, says the company. Unlimited mileage and vehicle upgrades are also offered as part of a new government leisure rental program.
“We’re confident that our rates will be amongst the lowest in the New York arm of the GSA program,” said Cygler. “As a local provider, we have the ability to be more flexible with our rental packages than larger corporate vendors.”
AllCar will also be extending reduced rates through its car-sharing service, Carpingo. Based in Brooklyn, Carpingo will provide GSA employees with membership packages that offer 24/7 access to cars with gas and insurance included.
