Auto Rental News has discontinued the print edition of the magazine, according to its publisher, Bobit Business Media. The magazine will continue to print and mail its annual Fact Book.

The brand will shift publication of news, feature stories, analyses, and market statistics to an online format through its website, www.autorentalnews.com, and two email newsletters, Reporter and Global Reporter.

Auto Rental News will continue to reach the full spectrum of the auto rental industry, in addition to expanding into new mobility models,” said Chris Brown, executive editor. “Our readership has expanded exponentially online, and at the same time, the car rental industry has experienced dramatic growth globally, which is not possible to cover through a print edition.”

“Our move to an online-only format allows us to be immediately responsive to news and trends, instead of waiting for a bi-monthly or quarterly print edition,” Brown said. “We are allocating our resources accordingly.”

From 2014 to 2017, online users and sessions on www.autorentalnews.com grew 65.4% and 67.8% respectively, while non-U.S. users grew 59%. Users on mobile devices have grown 155% in that time.

“To take advantage of this online growth, we’re excited to offer our print advertisers new digital marketing opportunities, including new opportunities with our growing custom publishing division,” said Joni Owens, associate publisher.

Auto Rental News invites the industry to attend the 2018 International Car Rental Show, convening April 15-17 at Bally’s Las Vegas. For a full schedule and information, visit here.

As well, Bobit Business Media will soon announce dates, location, and a call for papers for the second annual Fleet Forward Conference, which covers new mobility solutions for fleet stakeholders.
