Avis Expands Hybrid Vehicles
Environment-friendly vehicles are now available at West Coast and Washington, D.C. locations and are coming soon to Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York and Philadelphia.
Avis Rent A Car System, LLC recently announced that it will add 500 Nissan Altima Hybrid vehicles to its U.S. fleet, available at select locations.
The new addition gives customers a choice when renting a gas/electric hybrid vehicle, with the option of selecting either the Toyota Prius, a compact hybrid vehicle, or the Nissan Altima, a full-size hybrid vehicle for those desiring more room. Avis added 1,000 Toyota Priuses to its rental fleet earlier this summer.
The Altima Hybrid features a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine, fuel economy estimated at 42 miles per gallon (city) / 36 miles per gallon (highway) and an "Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle" rating. Standard features include push-button start, cruise control, keyless entry, power door locks and windows and dual zone automatic temperature control.
Avis recently introduced the Avis "Cool Cars" Collection, a series of vehicles which can be specifically reserved by make and model. In addition to the Nissan Altima Hybrid and the Toyota Prius, cars currently available in the collection include the Cadillac CTS, Hummer H3, Lincoln MKX and Chrysler Crossfire.
