PARSIPPANY, N.Y. -- Underscoring the importance of child passenger safety, Avis has created a "rent one and the rest are free" child safety seat offer that families can take advantage of Feb. 10-24.

In addition, during the same two weeks, Avis will donate $1 to the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) for each day a child safety or booster seat is rented. The Avis Cares program is timed to mark the national Child Passenger Safety Week (Feb. 10-16), with all donations to NACHRI supporting children's hospitals' efforts to ensure that all children traveling in motor vehicles are appropriately restrained.

"Using child safety and booster seats correctly is the best way to protect our children when driving, yet four out of five children are reportedly not buckled up correctly," said David N. Siegel, chairman and CEO of Avis Rent A Car System Inc. "We're proud to help the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) observe Child Passenger Safety Week through this special campaign."
