Avis Welcomes Model-Year 2011 Vehicles
The new Chevrolet Cruze is now available for rent, exclusively at Avis.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Avis' 2011 rental fleet now includes the new Chevrolet Cruze, the latest new car model that can currently be rented only from Avis. The five-passenger, front-wheel drive sedan is rated 36 miles per gallon (highway).
"We are excited to update what we believe is already the youngest fleet in the industry by offering the Chevrolet Cruze exclusively," said Becky Alseth, senior vice president of marketing for Avis Budget Group Inc., parent company of Avis Rent A Car. "The Cruze has the sophistication, room and comfort of a large vehicle as well as the performance and efficiency of a compact. Avis customers are sure to enjoy being among the first to drive the new Cruze and stretch their gas dollars."
Avis' fleet is structured to meet a range of customer needs, with fuel-efficiency being a key feature. Avis expects that more than 60 percent of its rental car fleet will be rated 28 miles per gallon or higher (highway). Avis features GM vehicles, which comprise about one third of its fleet, and also offers BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota cars for rent.
In addition to a broad range of compact, mid-size and full-size cars, the 2011 Avis lineup includes numerous specialty vehicles for those looking to accommodate groups and/or cargo as well as those seeking a luxurious ride or the thrill of a "muscle car." These include:
Chevrolet Camaro: The newest addition to Avis Cool Cars, a collection of fun-to-drive vehicles, the Chevrolet Camaro is available with automatic transmission. Renters can choose from the Camaro LT that features a 304-horsepower V6 engine or the Camaro SS with a 426-horsepower V8 engine and rear spoiler. The vehicles are available at select Avis airport locations in the United States.
Chevrolet Corvette: The legendary Chevrolet Corvette convertible features a 430-horsepower V8 aluminum-block engine and electronic keyless ignition with push-button start. The renowned Corvette is available as part of the Avis Cool Cars collection.
Chevrolet Suburban: The premium Chevrolet Suburban SUV offers seating for eight as well as significant cargo space. It was rated one of the "Top 10 Family Cars" by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com in 2010.
Chevrolet Express Van: The three-door, automatic transmission Chevrolet Express Van can seat up to 12 passengers, providing another option for large families or groups.
"Our customers tell us they need a very wide range of vehicle types to meet their many different and unique transportation needs," said Becky Alseth, senior vice president of marketing for Avis Budget Group. "The diversity of our fleet is designed to provide renters with plenty of choices. Whether it's a business traveler headed to an important meeting or a group traveling to a weekend reunion, Avis has a vehicle for them."
