Hars Systems, Inc.’s VIP International Corporation reports an extraordinary amount of response to its carsandhotels.com website. According to the company, the site generated more than 53,000 hits during the month of December.
The site provides 3,400 car rental and hotel clients and the ability to book reservations online. It was originally launched on October 21, 1999, and has received more than 105,000 requests for pages since then. In December 1999, these requests averaged 1,723 per day.
The company produced more than $180 million in hotel and car rental revenue in its fiscal year ended in September 1999. Approximately 9% of the company’s bookings, or $16.2 million, came from the Internet. VIP International expects that number to reach at least 12% this year.
