Transit funding problems have sparked proposals of a new car rental tax in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato plans to support a $2-per-day car rental tax. This tax, along with a tax on poured alcoholic drinks, will cover an increased transit payment by the county, required by the state, from $25 million to between $30 million and $35 million.
