car2go has partnered with Filld, a mobile fueling service that delivers gas directly to a customer’s car.

Effective immediately, the car2go network of vehicles in Vancouver, Canada, will be refueled by Filld's mobile fueling service with service in Portland, Ore., beginning soon.

Through the partnership, Filld will help car2go and its members maintain adequate fuel levels for the carsharing trips that are made daily, according to the company. Filld adds those vehicles to its daily algorithmically-determined route, alleviating the need for traditional gas station fueling by car2go vehicle support teams.

Filld launched with car2go in Seattle earlier this year. Vancouver and Portland are the latest on a list of new market rollouts expected throughout 2017.

"Mobile fueling through our partnership and integration with Filld enables us to keep our fleet fueled more cost-effectively while also ensuring that our cars are available for our members, who can be confident that they always have access to a fully fueled car2go vehicle when they need it," said Justin Braund, car2go’s North American fleet manager.

"When we began discussions with car2go in the fall of 2016, we quickly realized how our mobile fueling service would improve not only the operational costs of running their ridesharing fleet but also enhance the overall car2go customer experience," said Michael Buhr, CEO of Filld. "After a five-month pilot, the integration proved to be not only a strong business success, but also a continued positive benefit for consumers — it allows them to avoid the ever-increasing hassle, stress, and cost of visiting a gas station."
