Carhire.co.uk Sees Large Increase in Website Traffic
After recent site improvements aimed at shortening the page load times, Carhire.co.uk has seen a noticeable improvement in site traffic and page views.
Online car rental comparison website Carhire.co.uk says that it has had its busiest recorded month for online usage after several improvements were made to make the site faster during February and March.
A spokesperson for Carhire.co.uk, Terry Exley said, “We reduced the total downloaded bytes from 438 kilobytes to just 219 kilobytes. Whilst the original download size of the sites homepage wasn’t particularly large at all, especially when you compare it to some of the webs other leading travel extras homepages, we believe it’s a case of the smaller the better. This has caused the sites overall load time to decrease substantially and all visitor related stats have improved.”
The sites viewing data shows a remarkable increase in visitor numbers, a rise of 105% is seen for total site visitors in March 2012 when compared to January 2012. Of course this can be partly contributed to summer approaching and an increase in the interest of car hire with travellers looking to get away during the summer months. However, an impressive increase in total visitors can be seen when also comparing March 2011 with March 2012, this saw a rise of 71%.
Pages which stood out included those aimed at car hire in Spain and UK car hire.
Improvements were also seen in the average page views per visit which rose by 1.6 pages per visitor overall and bounce rate which decreased 20% (over January 2012 data).
