Carwiz International, a Croatian rental car brand that has seen strong global growth in recent years and now operates in more than 50 markets worldwide, has signed a franchise agreement with Newborn Limited, a New Zealand company owned by Haitao Sun.
With this step, Carwiz enters New Zealand, a destination renowned for its exceptional natural diversity and among the region's highest tourist arrival rates.
With a fleet of nearly 1,400 vehicles, Carwiz will operate in key New Zealand locations, including Christchurch Airport, Auckland Airport, Rotorua Downtown, Wellington Airport, and Queenstown Airport, ensuring the brand’s presence in the country’s most important tourism and transit hubs.
New Zealand, celebrated for its road-trip culture and visitors eager to explore both coasts and the islands’ interior at their own pace, offers an ideal environment for expanding rental car services.
This was one of the main reasons Newborn Limited's owner, Haitao Sun, decided to partner with Carwiz, emphasizing that the brand offers quality, standardized service and experience that will further enhance his company’s offering.
“Entering the New Zealand market is a major step in our ongoing global expansion,” said Krešimir Dobrilović, founder and CEO of Carwiz International, in a Dec. 12 news release. “It’s a market that aligns with the Carwiz philosophy: Travelers want freedom, safety, and great service.”
With this expansion, Carwiz continues to grow its international network and further establishes itself as a globally recognized name in the mobility industry.
