China Auto Rental Slashes Prices and Accuses Competitors of Slander
The car rental company’s CEO responded to negative publicity by lowering car rental rates to as low as 50 Yuan per day, which is about $8 (US).
According to the Global Times, China Auto Rental CEO Lu Zhengyao announced that prices for rental cars would be available at 50% off for one year in response to negative publicity the company claims it has received from its competitors. Prices from China Auto Rental now reach as low as 50 Yuan, which is about $8 (US).
On the microblogging site Weibo, Lu directed angry comments at the company’s competitors telling them to “back off” and “do not cross the line” following the attacks China Auto Rental received for their 5-year anniversary promotion in September.
China Auto Rental told Global Times that it also plans to report evidence of its competitor’s slander to police.
