On Oct. 5, travel magazine Conde Nast released its 2021 Readers Choice Awards results, naming 12 of the best car rental companies in the world.
Companies were rated on service, vehicle selection, vehicle availability, rental locations, and overall satisfaction, by more than 800,000 readers.
The award winners, in order, were:

Sixt
Enterprise Rent-a-Car
Alamo Rent a Car
Europcar
Avis
Thrifty Car Rental
Hertz

One of the year’s winners, coming in third place, Sixt responded to the award in a news statement. “We see ourselves as a host for our customers and our premium claim is a common thread that runs through all our products, services, and processes,” Michael Meissner, president and COO of Sixt United States said. “That being said, exciting our customers is one of our core competencies, and we are honored that readers of Condé Nast Traveler all across the world have chosen Sixt to rank among their top three car rental companies in the U.S. – a market which has gained huge importance for us as one of the key growth markets for Sixt.”
