Connect by Hertz Signs USAA as 1st Corporate Customer in Texas

Connect by Hertz will offer three Toyota Hybrids at USAA headquarters. The vehicles are available 24/7 for the company's 14,000 employees.

Connect by Hertz, Hertz's global car sharing club, has signed its first major corporate account in Texas, USAA. Cars will be placed at USAA's headquarters in San Antonio, providing its more than 14,000 employees with an environmentally friendly, economical alternative to car ownership and a solution for short-term transportation needs. The effort underscores Hertz's commitment to aggressively expand its car sharing club.

Mark P. Frissora, chairman and CEO of Hertz, said, "Connect by Hertz has been expanding aggressively and the corporate market is a key element to our expansion program. With 14,000 employees at the USAA headquarters, hundreds using USAA's NuRide and Van Pooling programs, Connect by Hertz is a natural benefit for USAA to offer its employees. Car Sharing allows businesses to manage their fleets in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. Hertz has a long standing relationship with USAA; by offering Connect by Hertz services USAA is able to offer a new, cost-effective travel option for its headquarter employees.”

Three Toyota Prius hybrids have been placed at USAA's headquarters and will be available for use 24/7. Cars are available to all USAA employees who join Connect by Hertz with gas, maintenance, insurance and parking included in USAA's low, hourly rate. Selected for its advanced technology, solid infrastructure and quality vehicles, Connect by Hertz fulfills Hertz's mission of providing services for all rental needs -- from one hour to one year, and everything in between.
