TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (DTG) announced that Executive Vice President Yves Boyer has shifted responsibilities, from heading up the company's Canadian operations to leadership of its international division.

Boyer replaces Peter Guptill, who retired after more than 10 years of service at DTG. Guptill, 62, joined the company in 1993 as president of Dollar Rent A Car's Florida operations. In January 1995, he was also named general manager of Dollar's international division, in addition to his other responsibilities.

"Peter was primarily instrumental in the turnaround of the company's Florida division," said Gary L. Paxton, DTG's president and CEO. "Under his leadership, the company's Florida operation improved from losing money to the best profit margin region in the corporate operations. Peter also strengthened the company's penetration of inbound international business, positioning Dollar as a leader in this important segment of the leisure rental car market."

Boyer has been with the company since 1996, and will report to Scott Anderson, senior executive vice president for global marketing and franchise operations. The Canadian management team will now report directly to Jay Foley, senior executive vice president for corporate operations.

Foley will oversee the company's Canadian operations. He is also responsible for all of DTG's U.S. corporate locations.

"We have a very strong management team in Canada, and I am confident they will not miss a beat in guiding our growth and progress as we continue to move forward," Paxton said. "Jay will be focused on exploring opportunities for both growth and for achieving operational efficiencies that may be available by leveraging off our U.S. operations."
