DTG's Cappy to Retire, Paxton Assumes CEO Role

TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group President Gary L. Paxton will assume the role of company CEO and president next week, DTG's board of directors announced.
Current Chairman and CEO Joseph Cappy will remain a DTG director and serve as a company adviser for senior management. Cappy, 69, will retire from DTG and its board on Dec. 31, following a 10-year stretch as the organization's leader.
The board also announced that Thomas P. Capo, a current DTG director and former senior vice president and treasurer of DaimlerChrysler Corp., will become DTG's chairman of the board.
Paxton, 57, has 35 years in the car rental industry. He has been a key member of DTG's senior management team since 1990.
Senior managers reporting to Paxton include Donald M. Himelfarb, who will become chief administrative officer. Himelfarb will oversee technology, fleet, legal and administrative services.
Moreover, Himelfarb, 58, will coordinate merging Dollar and Thrifty's systems into a single operating platform.
