Enterprise Rent-A-Car is expanding its neighborhood network across Northern Virginia with its newest location opening today in Alexandria. The independent city is already home to six other Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch offices, one of which also offers premium luxury vehicles through the Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise.

Extensive renovations of the 4,570-square-foot Enterprise facility transformed a vacated restaurant into a state-of-the-art branch office. The new sustainable features, which include a high-efficiency heating and cooling system, lighting sensors, thermal windows, and a recycling system for wash bays, support Enterprise’s energy and construction initiatives as well as the goals of Eco-City Alexandria – the city’s strategic effort to achieve sustainability.

In addition to supporting the City of Alexandria’s sustainable building goals, Enterprise offers local residents a variety of sustainable transportation options. By providing customers convenient and affordable access to late-model, fuel-efficient vehicles, local car rental reduces the number of vehicles on the road, and in some cases, eliminates the need for personal ownership – making it one of the most effective and sustainable mobility options today.

Furthermore, Enterprise Rideshare, a service of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, is an alternative commuting solution that has become one of the largest vanpool operations in the nation and has been going strong in Alexandria for the last eight years. The program started with only 10 vans in the area and now has nearly 450 in the D.C. market.

Every business day, Enterprise Rideshare takes more than 100,000 individual cars off the road, eliminating more than 2.4 billion commuter miles driven each year and eradicating the need for 100,000 parking spaces. Additionally, almost 2 billion pounds of carbon emissions are reduced through the Enterprise commuting program.

Community Commitment

The new Alexandria office will be run by eight employees, including a branch manager, assistant manager, and management trainees, who all participated in the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training Program. The renowned program not only teaches college-educated men and women how to run a business and provide excellent customer service, but also how to empower teams. Other hallmarks of the program include extensive training in a wide range of business skills, including profit and loss management, business-to-business marketing and sales, and logistics.

Enterprise Holdings also is committed to promoting long-term community growth and prosperity. Enterprise, National, and Alamo employees in the Washington D.C. metro area generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for the United Way and volunteer countless hours each year. Local employees work to strengthen their communities, one neighborhood at a time, by supporting organizations like the Washington Urban League and the Capital Food Bank.
