Europcar UK will add electric vehicles to its fleet to meet the mayor of London’s electric vehicle delivery plan, according to a report by Fleet News.
By 2020, Europcar said that 5% of its fleet will include electric vehicles. To get started toward that goal, Europcar has launched a new fleet of Nissan LEAF electric vehicles to be used for delivery and collection of rental cars in London, says the report. The LEAF vehicles will also be available to rent at Europcar branches in London.

“Europcar has risen to the challenge to improve air quality and reduce carbon emissions in London by committing to 5% electric vehicle fleet by 2020,” Ken McCall, managing director of Europcar UK Group, told Fleet News. “To meet this ambitious target, we will be promoting our new fleet of electric rental vehicles to Londoners. Car rental is a brilliant way to try out electric vehicles, and Europcar welcomes the support from the mayor’s team for this initiative. … ”
