Robert L. Stone, a former chairman and chief executive at the Hertz corporation, died from heart failure Jan. 28, according to the Associated Press. He was 87.
Born on Dec. 12, 1921, Stone became a top executive for Hertz in 1972. Under his leadership, the company’s revenue increased from $21 million in 1972 to $200 million by 1978, the year he left the company.
