Frequent Travelers Least Stressed by Picking Up Rentals, Says TripIt Survey

TripIt found that exercising, eating healthy and returning home to a to-do list are more stressful for travelers than picking up car rentals or checking in to the airport.

TripIt, a mobile travel organizer from Concur, released the results of its new survey that examined what causes the most stress for frequent travelers.

The survey, released March 27, found that a majority of travelers did not find picking up a rental car, checking in to the airport, the flight itself or communicating with partners and/or kids to be stressful.

According to TripIt, exercising on the road, eating healthy and coming home to a to-do list are more stressful for frequent travelers than airport security.

The top five activities identified by the majority of respondents as stressful include:

TripIt surveyed 1,100 TripIt users who travel overnight at least one night per month. The survey was conducted in an Instant Research Community hosted by GutCheck, on behalf of TripIt. Participants were allowed to select from “very stressful,” “somewhat stressful,” “not very stressful” and “not stressful at all,” for a list of pre-trip activities. The activities cited most frequently as “somewhat stressful” or “very stressful” were revealed in the results.
