Hertz Global Holdings Inc. announced Monday that Scott P. Sider, president of off-airport operations, will succeed Joseph R. Nothwang as the company's senior executive leading the car rental and leasing businesses in the Americas.

Nothwang will retire and leave the company as planned on December 12, after 33 years of service. Sider will become executive vice president and president of car rental and leasing of the Americas, effective upon Nothwang's retirement.

The company's Asia/Pacific car rental and leasing businesses, which includes China, India, Australia and New Zealand, will now report to Michel Taride. He is currently the Hertz's executive vice president and president responsible for car rental and leasing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Sider joined Hertz in 1983 and has held a number of senior management positions in the company's U.S. car rental operations. He was the Manhattan area manager and region vice president for the New England, West Central and Western regions, the latter being the largest in the Hertz network. He was named in 2008 to lead the company's North American off-airport business.

Mark Frissora, commenting on Sider's appointment said, "Scott has demonstrated the ability to generate revenue and profit growth, and build high quality teams, in our largest and most challenging U.S. car rental markets. With 23 years of management experience in the airport and off-airport markets, Scott, and his team, will build on the exceptional progress Hertz has made during the decade Joe Nothwang led our car rental business in the Americas."
