The Global Business Travel Association (GTBA) Foundation has named The Hertz Corp. as one of the winners of its fourth annual Sustainability Outstanding Achievement Awards.
Hertz received the award for the category of travel supplier. According to the GBTA, “Hertz delivered a well-presented application based on its ‘Living Journey’ strategy. The work they do in negotiating bespoke contracts to support travel buyer carbon reduction goals truly stands out.”
The GBTA Foundation recognizes travel buyers, suppliers, and intermediaries who demonstrate innovation and commitment to delivering sustainability programs, products, and services across North America.
The other recipients included Wyndham Worldwide Corp. for travel buyer and BCD Travel for travel intermediary.
“The high quality of entries for our fourth annual awards in North America yet again demonstrates the level of importance we see companies placing on responsible travel management, driving a significant increase in the number of companies building sustainability principles into their business travel and meetings programs,” said Bernard Harrop, head of sustainability for Project ICARUS, an initiative by the GBTA Foundation. “The judges faced a tough task to select the honorees, demonstrating the outstanding contribution companies are making in the drive for greater sustainability in our industry.”
