Hertz Names Thomas Exec. VP, Supply Chain Management

In this position, John A. Thomas will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, company wide supply chain strategy.

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. recently announced that John A. Thomas has been appointed executive vice president, supply chain management.

Thomas joins Hertz from R.R. Donnelley where he most recently served as group senior vice president, business process outsourcing (BPO). Prior to R.R. Donnelley, Thomas managed the supply chain for two of General Electric's subsidiaries, including the company's flagship Aircraft Engines business.

"John Thomas brings to Hertz expertise and a history of consistent success in strategic business and fulfillment processes. John will lead our efforts to centralize and rationalize the more than $15 billion we spend annually on rental fleets and other purchased goods and services," says Hertz Chairman and CEO, Mark P. Frissora. "John's prior positions, coupled with his expertise as a Six Sigma Black Belt and his program management and process reengineering skills will be instrumental as we reorganize and globalize our current supply chain organization."

In this position, Thomas will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, company wide supply chain strategy focusing on centralizing and optimizing the company's overall operational and financial performance in the supply chain area.

Thomas will be responsible for procurement, including the worldwide car and equipment rental fleets, as well as logistics and asset disposition, and real estate.

John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University.
