Hertz Van Supersite Network Expands in UK
According to the Hertz Corp., Hertz U.K. has extended its nationwide Van Supersite network to the Newcastle area.
Hertz U.K. has extended its nationwide Van Supersite network to the Newcastle area, according to the Hertz Corp. The available vans include Ford Transit Luton box vehicles, tippers, crew cabs and customized vehicles.
According to Hertz, the Van Supersites provide fleet management services that enable fleet managers to streamline vehicle usage, cut down pool fleet numbers and effectively reduce administration costs.
"Van rental offers a compelling alternative to vehicle ownership,” said Michel Taride, group president of Hertz International. “It reduces the financial commitment of purchasing, breakdown cover, insurance and getting a fleet taxed and ready for the road. The trend for van fleet rentals instead of purchases is increasing, which has created a requirement for our van rental business to expand even further."
The opening of the Newcastle Van Supersite is part of Hertz's long-term plan to supersize its Van Supersite network in the U.K., which now features 21 locations. The Supersites have the capacity to rent over 1,000 vehicles and have been built to meet the demands of fleet managers who operate large commercial fleets, says Hertz.
"Hertz works with thousands of large and small van operators, from self-employed van drivers to large operators with 500+ van fleets," said Neil Cunningham, general manager, Hertz UK. "We are excited to be investing and expanding in the local area and also increasing the number of people we employee locally."
