Minute Rentals, an hourly car rental company based in Kingston, Jamaica, is looking to expand by creating more business from the hospitality sector, according to a report by The Gleaner.

Founded about a year ago, Minute Rentals has been renting vehicles from registered owners to help build its fleet for hourly car rental service. In exchange for use of the vehicles, the owners are paid 70% of the revenue earned by the car, says the report.

The company has grown its fleet from two Suzuki Altos to 24 vehicles.

“What we do is give Jamaicans and visitors to the island the ability to rent a car for a minimum of four hours,” Ramone Dunkley, general manager of Minute Rentals, told The Gleaner. “So an individual that has a car idle at work, they can place it in our fleet during work hours, and we deal with all the technicalities of getting it rented.”

To grow its business in the hospitality sector, Minute Rentals plans to expand to new cities, including Montego Bay, St. James, and Ocho Rios, according to the report. Additionally, the company wants to develop a real-time customer relations management system.
