Japan Car Sharing Association Needs Vehicles to Help Typhoon Victims

The Japan Car Sharing Association is looking for vehicle donations to help people who lost their vehicles in the areas hit by Typhoon Hagibis, according to a report by the Japan Times.
Currently, the association has a shortage of vehicles to lend to disaster victims after helping people during several natural disasters that have hit Japan in recent years.
Founded in 2011, the association lent vehicles to people who couldn’t secure any means of transportation after their vehicles were damaged in the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in March 2011, according to the report. The association has provided approximately 45 of its 135 vehicles for use in areas affected by heavy rain in Saga Prefecture and typhoons in Chiba Prefecture.
For those affected by the recent typhoon, the association hopes to provide around 100 vehicles, says the report. This is a similar number of vehicles that were offered during the heavy rain in 2018 in western Japan.
