ADESA, Inc. (NYSE:KAR), North America’s largest publicly traded provider of wholesale vehicle auctions and used vehicle dealer floorplan financing, today announced Joe Mappes has been hired as ADESA’s new Director of Dealer Sales, effective December 4, 2006.
“Mappes background and experience are a great fit for this new position that will help ADESA to increase market share by calling on the top dealer groups in the U.S.,” said Brent Huisman, ADESA’s VP of Dealer Relations. “He has already been quite successful during his time at ADESA Cincinnati/Dayton, and I look forward to working with him to develop and implement a national strategy to help us strengthen and build upon our relationships within this important industry segment.”
Mappes was an Account Representative for AT&T from 1999 to 2001 in Dayton, Ohio. In 2001, he joined Superior Auto Institute out of Anaheim, California as a National Account Manager. In 2002, he formed Pronto Dent Removal, which provided paint-free dent removal service and training to Ford Motor Company, financial institutions and franchised dealers. He sold his business in late 2004 and ADESA Cincinnati/Dayton as a Dealer Consignment Representative beginning in 2005 and serving most recently as the auction’s Fleet/Lease Manager.
Joe earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Marketing from Wright State University and is currently enrolled in Ohio State University’s MBA program.
