Law Firm Contacting Airports for Hertz Bankruptcy Monitoring
Commissioners at Martha’s Vineyard Airport have been contacted by a law firm to regarding legal help to monitor the Hertz bankruptcy.

According to the MV Times, the airport was contacted by the law firm Anderson & Kreiger, which is also potentially engaging with four other airports for bankruptcy monitoring.

Commissioners at Martha’s Vineyard Airport, a vacation island off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, have been contacted by a law firm regarding legal help to monitor the Hertz bankruptcy.
According to the MV Times, the airport was contacted by the law firm Anderson & Kreiger, which is also potentially engaging with four other airports for bankruptcy monitoring. The report did not mention the airports.
Hertz, Avis, and Budget operate at the airport.
In the report, a lawyer for the firm told the airport director that “He thought might be a good idea to reach out to other airport clients and see if they are interested in putting this together as a class and all share the cost.”
According to the report, Anderson & Kreiger would partner with Tom Bean, a Boston lawyer who specializes in bankruptcy law.
Mackey said that the other airport clients have ongoing customer facility charges (CFCs). However, Martha’s Vineyard Airport has a simple lease structure with Hertz. As such, any engagement to monitor bankruptcy proceedings might be less useful to the Vineyard.
Airport commissioners have tabled the talks pending further discussions from a bankruptcy specialist.
