Mex Rent A Car has launched in Poland within the Warsaw International Airport.
"We're very excited about our new affiliate within Central Europe," Juan Carlos Morga, Mex Rent A Car’s chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “This country is filled with culture and invites tourists to enjoy its architectural richness. We work hard to provide all of our customers with an excellent mobility option around the world.”
Why Poland?
With a population of approximately 38.5 million people, Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European Union and 36th in the world. Poland is the eighth largest economy in the European Union and one of the fastest growing European and world economies.
According to the Global Peace Index 2017, Poland ranks 33rd in the world in terms of security level. Tourists are enchanted by Polish hospitality and friendliness, Poland’s cultural heritage, and the country’s natural landscape.
Tourist attractions in Poland vary, from the mountains in the south to the sandy beaches in the north, with a trail of nearly every architectural style. Poland's main tourist offerings include outdoor activities such as skiing, sailing, mountain hiking, and climbing, as well as agrotourism and sightseeing historical monuments.
Tourist destinations include the Baltic Sea coast in the north; the Masurian Lake District and Białowieża Forest in the east; on the south Karkonosze, the Table Mountains and the Tatra Mountains, where Rysy, the highest peak of Poland, and the famous Orla Perć mountain trail are located. The Pieniny and Bieszczady Mountains lie in the extreme south-east. There are over 100 castles in the country, many in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and along the popular Trail of the Eagles' Nests.
Poland has 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 14 of which are cultural.
Polish is the official language of Poland and one of the official in EU. It is believed to be one of the most difficult languages in the world. Until recent decades, because Poland was occupied, Russian was commonly learned as a second language, but after the revolutions of 1989, it has been replaced by English as the most common second language studied and spoken.
In 2015, more than 50% of Poles declared to speak English — Russian came second, and German came third; other commonly spoken foreign languages include French, Italian and Spanish.
Currently, Mex has affiliate locations in other countries within Europe including Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, and Iceland.
