ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Payless Car Rental System Inc. has introduced a new corporate account program and an enhanced Passport Club program for owners of small businesses. Both programs offer a 5% discount off the lowest applicable rate.

"The programs work well together to fulfill the needs of the value-conscious commercial traveler," said Dan Spindler, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The commercial segment is a logical extension of the Payless brand, and we are confident our product is a good fit with the business traveler."

The Payless Passport Club Program is designed for the individual traveler. As a part of the program, individual renter preferences are captured in a centralized, secure database used to facilitate the rental process, enhance marketing efforts, and build brand loyalty. Passport members are also eligible for discounted rates and special program benefits.

Payless, which caters primarily to the leisure traveler, is looking to expand the company's niche to include the price-sensitive business traveler. Payless Car Rental has over 135 worldwide franchise locations.
