Ride-Hailing Group Go-Jek to Invest $500M in Southeast Asia Expansion Efforts

Indonesian ride-hailing group Go-Jek is planning to expand its service area to include Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Philippines, the company announced.
The push will include a $500 million investment in its international operations.
“Our aim is to partner with countries and their governments to bring benefit to everyone who uses our technology whether consumers looking for fast, competitive services, or drivers looking to secure additional income," Go-Jeck CEO and founder Nadiem Makarim said in a statement.
Go-Jek officials said that they are working with the appropriate regulators and stakeholders to prepare for their new operations.
The announcement follows Grab’s acquisition of Uber’s Southeast Asian operations.
