Car rental company Sixt has launched operations Puerto Rico, with a location in the capital of St. Juan. The company will offer shuttle service to the international airport as well as delivery services to multiple locations within the city center.

With the expansion into Puerto Rico, Sixt widens its international network in Latin and South America. The company already offers services in Barbados, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, French Guyana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, St. Lucia and St. Martin. The expansion is based on a network of franchisees with many years of experiences in their markets. In Puerto Rico, Sixt co-operates with a partner, Quality Car Rental, who has been in the country for more than 19 years and runs a fleet of 80 cars.

"Sixt is one of the leading car rental companies in the Caribbean Region. I am happy to see, in particular, the growing number of U.S. customers who book Sixt via one of our international partnership travel portals. As a result I am expecting the region to be even more important in the near future and see our partners ready to serve this demand," said Detlef Krehahn, vice president of Sixt international franchise.

"The decision for a partnership with Sixt is built upon the long-standing reputation Sixt has built as an industry leader. Puerto Rico is a very competitive, tourist-oriented market. Partnering with SIXT will provide us with leverage and access to a huge pool of resources to help us make SIXT Puerto Rico one of the top brands on the island," said Jose La Lane, general manager of Sixt Puerto Rico.
