Sixt announced April 26 that it is extending its mobility services on the African continent by offering mobility solutions in Kenya, effective immediately. The product range covers short-term and long-term rentals from classic one-day rentals to packages that cover several weeks.

Kenya is now the 13th country in Africa where Sixt offers mobility services to its customers. Sixt already serves customers in Angola, Egypt, Libya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Tunisia. The branch network will shortly be extended to include Ivory Coast.

The first Sixt branch has started operating at the international airport in Nairobi, one of the country’s most important transport nodes. A second branch will shortly open at the airport in Mombasa, the second most important city for Kenya’s tourist industry, according to Sixt.

Initially, the fleet is comprised of 30 vehicles from Toyota and Hyundai, and reservations can be made on www.sixt.de.

“With our launch in Kenya, we are now in a position to offer a high-quality mobility solution in an interesting tourist market,” said Detlef Krehahn, head of franchise department at Sixt Rent a Car. “In addition, it brings us one step closer to our goal of expanding our services to all of Africa. This is an important part of the international expansion strategy which Sixt is promoting with impressive speed.”
