Salt Lake City International Airport has unveiled its new rental car facilities, including three rental service site buildings and a quick turn-around building, according to a press release by the airport.

The quick turn-around facility will be used by the rental car companies to fuel, clean and prepare the returned vehicles. Totaling 469,567 square foot, the two-level quick turn-around building can hold up to 900 vehicles. The building includes 64 fuel pumps with 75,000 gallon storage in three tanks and 14 car wash units that recycle 85% of the water used, according to the airport.

The rental service site buildings will be used for light maintenance on the vehicles, including oil and tire changes and body repairs. The three buildings total 32,433 square-feet, and each building can store 500 cars, says the airport.

These new rental car facilities are part of the airport’s $1.8-billion redevelopment program, says the airport. The first phase of this project is expected to be completed in 2020.
