Sabre recently introduced the Sales Manager. This new software makes travel agents and individual travelers aware of targeted promotions and offerings during the booking process.
When an individual or travel agent books a reservation or asks for the availability of inventory, the Sales Manager software attaches the traveler’s frequent flier number and other information, such as club membership, to the request. At this point in the process, the point of sale, targeted promotions and specials can be offered to the traveler.
Scott Alvis, senior vice president of associate marketing and sales, says, “Sales Manager is the most sophisticated targeting and one-to-one marketing tool available to travel suppliers.” Alvis also expects the new tool to have a strong response versus direct mail.
According to Alvis, the Sales Manager is beneficial to the travel agent, car rental companies and the actual traveler. The software allows the agent to give their customers a good travel experience and good customer service. Car rental companies benefit through targeted offers. And, travelers win by receiving specific promotions that are close to their own needs rather than mass marketing appeals.
