Tennessee’s Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is set to undergo a $1.5 million upgrade, which includes increasing the airport’s rental car area from 94 vehicle spaces to 178, according to a report by Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Approved by airport officials earlier this month, the airport renovation is projected to be completed by March 2015, says the report. Funding will come from the $2 per transaction fee paid by airport rental car customers, Terry Hart, the airport’s chief executive, told the Chattanooga Times.
Currently, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National operate at the Chattanooga Airport, says the report.
“We now have the ability to grow that [rental] lot,” Hart told the Chattanooga Times. “The rental companies are very much looking forward to this project.”
