JACKSON, Miss. –-- U-Save Auto Rental of America, Inc., has joined the Beads for Bayou effort to help raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims.
In cooperation with Jefferson Pilot Communications and the syndicated Bob and Sheri Radio Show, U-Save employees across the country will be wearing Mardi Gras beads as a sign of solidarity toward the hurricane victims.
"When I heard of the radio show’s promotion, I thought it would be an excellent idea to support their efforts and reach a broad base of Americans through our rental offices," said Sandy Miller, co-chairman of U-Save. "Our goal is to have every U-Save employee in beads and to communicate the message to the traveling public."
From September to November, all U-Save employees will be wearing beads and t-shirts with the campaign logo.
Through these months, U-Save rental agreements will include an attached letter encouraging customer participation in the program. In addition, signs explaining how customers can help will be on display in the rental offices.
"The more we can do to show we are in support of the displaced citizens is what this is all about," said Tony Garcia, AVP/director of syndication for JP Communications. "I would love to see the whole country in beads."
The Bob and Sheri show will supply beads to those people who make a $10 donation to the American Red Cross. For more information, visit www.beadsforbayou.com, which links to the Bob and Sheri Show Web site.
