Uber, a mobile-application-based company that connects customers with vehicle drivers, has launched its UberX service in India, according to a report by techcircle.in.
Providing a cheaper alternative to Uber, UberX brings its services to three cities, including Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
The base fees start at $0.83 — with an additional $0.03 per minute and approximately$0.50 per mile, according to the report. UberX is available online or through the company’s mobile app.
Uber first launched in Bangalore last October, followed by New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai, says the report.
