JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tiger Telematics Inc. announced it will be supplying advanced telematic systems to easyCar UK Ltd., a European rental car company with plans to introduce an automated rental service.
Tiger's telematic system will be used to remotely monitor, mobilize and immobilize easyCar rental vehicles.
Tiger Telematics has offices in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as London. easyCar is a low-cost car rental service that sells 95% online. The company, which started trading April 2000, is expanding across Europe. "Employing the Tiger Telematics technology will allow easyCar to correctly identify the customer, remotely unlock the car and allow the driver to operate the vehicle, without having any staff on-site," said Chris Branagan, IT director of easyCar. "This will save us running costs, creating a competitive advantage for easyCar and allowing easyCar to pass the savings through to our customers."
