CHICAGO -- United's new low-fare carrier Ted has expanded service into United's Washington-Dulles hub. From Washington-Dulles, Ted will offer service to Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa and Las Vegas.

Ft. Lauderdale is a new market for United from Dulles. Orlando, Tampa and Las Vegas are existing United routes transitioning to Ted.

Ted's car rental partners are Dollar, Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, Budget, National and Alamo. When Ted passengers use one of these partners, the carrier rewards them with 250 Mileage Plus bonus miles on top of the Mileage Plus miles they get from the rental partner.

Tickets for Ted flights out of Dulles went on sale on Saturday, Feb. 7. The distinct blue and orange planes will take to the skies from Dulles beginning April 7. With three roundtrips per day to start, Ted service will quickly expand to 15 roundtrips per day from Dulles by mid-May, representing 22% of United's domestic mainline flying from Washington-Dulles.

"United has long been committed to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, making Ted's second hub of Washington-Dulles a natural choice," said Pete McDonald, Ted's executive vice president of operations. "With United already serving more international and domestic destinations, with more departures from the Washington area than any other airline, the addition of Ted service provides Dulles customers with another dependable way to travel at affordable prices with flight schedules that suit their needs."
