Zipcar Expands in Sacramento
With the support of the City of Sacramento, Zipcar has increased its number of car-sharing vehicles throughout Sacramento — its 26th major metropolitan market.
Zipcar Inc. has increased its number of car-sharing vehicles to nearly 40 throughout the city of Sacramento. In addition, Zipcar will establish an office in the city.
"Sacramento is a perfect example of our 'inside out' approach to developing markets that may not have the density of a New York or San Francisco," said Zipcar President Mark Norman. "Strong utilization on the campuses of UC Davis and California State University-Sacramento has led to consumer and business demand in the city, making it possible for Zipcar to invest in Sacramento and make it our 26th metro market."
According to the company, Zipcar will offer a mix of vehicles in Sacramento, including the Honda CR-V, Toyota Prius and a Mini Cooper convertible.
Rates start as low as $7.50 per hour and $69 per day (24 hours) and include gas, reserved parking spots, insurance, roadside assistance and up to 180 miles of driving per day.
