Telematics and mobility provider RentalMatics announced in a statement the appointment of Colm Brady (ACCA) as its new CEO. Brady joins the business replacing outgoing CEO and founder of RentalMatics Colm Menton who will now assume a non-executive director position on the board. Current CTO of RentalMatics Thomas Brady (PhD) is also stepping down having played a pivotal role in developing the RentalMatics product and technology offering. Dr. Brady, one of the original co-founders of RentalMatics will also remain involved as he takes up a position on the technical advisory board.

With over 22 years of experience in the car rental and car sharing industry and specialist expertise in mobility and technology, Colm Brady joins RentalMatics having worked with Europcar in Ireland for the past 12 years serving as managing director between 2018 and 2022. Brady had overall responsibility for the Europcar car rental business and GoCar car sharing services and played a key role in particular in scaling the GoCar business.

Brady and Menton worked alongside each other for over 16 years at Thrifty Car Rentals and Europcar Ireland successfully developing both businesses. Brady is already familiar with RentalMatics having been one of the original founders of the business in 2016.

In his new role with RentalMatics, Brady will use his industry expertise to expand and scale the business over the coming years, leading a team of 35 based across the business’ offices in Dublin and New York.

The RentalMatics platform is a multi-patent granted solution for the mobility industry and currently supports rental fleets across U.K., Europe, North America, South America, and Australia. RentalMatics has developed a SaaS telematics-based operating system which enables companies who manage large fleets to automate, visualise, and manage their operations in real time and generate greater efficiencies. The technology allows businesses to see where their vehicles are, access their every movement, eradicate theft and fraudulent activity, increase damage recovery, maximise vehicle usage, and transform insurance costs.

“I am delighted to join RentalMatics, a hugely exciting company that has enjoyed tremendous early success since its foundation," said Brady in the statement. "The fact that I have existing knowledge of the company as well as a longstanding professional relationship with its founder Colm Menton is a huge bonus and will help accelerate my transition and enable me to hit the ground running immediately. We have an amazing team, outstanding technology and there is a huge opportunity to grow the business in the years to come building on the remarkable achievements of the company to date.”
