CarCloud.com, a global provider of e-commerce technology for the car rental industry, has launched an artificial intelligence agent platform designed specifically for rental operators.
The platform enables rental companies to convert website visitors into confirmed bookings through real-time conversations connected directly to live reservation systems. The AI agent can take a customer from an initial inquiry to a completed booking in a conversation without human involvement.
The platform was developed to address a common challenge in the car rental industry: converting website traffic into direct bookings, the company said. Many rental inquiries occur outside normal business hours, and operators without always-available digital tools can lose potential customers to competitors or third-party booking platforms.
The AI agent provides multilingual customer support and can manage multiple conversations. It is designed to guide customers through the rental car process, including vehicle selection, optional extras, insurance choices, and final booking confirmation.
Operators can also allow customers to modify or cancel reservations and receive instant answers to policy questions. Each AI agent can be configured via a cloud-based dashboard, allowing operators to adjust branding, conversational behavior, and business rules without requiring developer support.
The system integrates directly with several car rental reservation systems that CarCloud.com already works with, including Emotion, Rental Car Manager, Thermeon CARS+, TSD, Wheelsys, and Wizard. The platform combines reservation data with sales and conversion logic developed from more than a decade of experience building online booking technology for rental companies.
In addition to booking functionality, the platform includes tools designed to increase revenue. The AI agent can recommend optional products such as insurance coverage, GPS units, child seats, and vehicle upgrades during customer conversations.
The platform also provides analytics and reporting tools that show customer trends and insights that operators can use to guide marketing, pricing, and operational decisions.
CarCloud.com said operators can be onboarded and begin using the platform within days, with no minimum contract term. The company said its software has processed more than $1 billion in online rental bookings.
