Plamondon brings a diverse experience in many facets of the car rental industry to the stage.

Plamondon began his career in the car rental industry in franchise development at Budget Rent a Car in 1978, later restructuring Budget’s Florida operations while managing the acquisition of its largest subsidiary.

In 1989, he returned to corporate headquarters as executive vice president of sales and marketing and later EVP, North America. In 1992, he was named president of Budget Rent a Car and added the title of CEO the following year. Plamondon left Budget in 1997 with the successful sale of the company to Team Rental Group.

In 1998, Plamondon founded R.I. Heller & Co., LLC, a global professional services firm. In 2000, he was named to serve on the board of directors of ANC Rental Corporation, the parent company of Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental. He achieved the title of president and CEO and managed the company’s successful restructuring before its sale in 2003. Plamondon served as president of Advantage from 2013 to 2016.

“Bill has been a mentor to many in this industry over the years,” said Chris Brown, ICRS conference chair. “It’s fitting that he will take the stage on this, our 25th year of the show. Bill will enlighten our audience with insights not only into where car rental has been, but also the road ahead.”
