DETROIT-- Payless Car Rental System Inc. has expanded to the Detroit market with two new franchise locations in Southfield and the Detroit Metro Airport. The franchise openings are part of Payless Car Rental's aggressive development plan to double the number of worldwide locations by 2003.
"Being located in the car capital of the world will make us very competitive, but our strength will be in our knowledge of the market," said Joseph Brikho, owner of both Detroit Payless franchises. "The airport location caters to the business and leisure traveler, and our Southfield location targets the local market."
Payless Car Rental at Metro Airport is located on airport property with shuttle service from the terminal to the Payless counter. The location will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and features a free computer terminal for 24-hour customer convenience. Travelers can check e-mails, weather reports and stay tuned to the news through Internet access.
Terry Gibson, general manager of the airport location, has over 25 years car rental operations and management experience in the Detroit metro market.
The Southfield Payless Car Rental at 22250 West Ten Mile is located within the Glassman Body Shop and will cater to local residents who need a vehicle while their auto is being repaired.
